Discovery
A Discovery Call to understand where your child is now, and where you both want them to go. Then a written diagnostic showing exactly which concepts are secure and which aren’t.
You stop guessing. Not a grade three months late, but exactly where the gap is and how far back it goes.
Mastery
A mastery plan built for your child, mapped to their curriculum and their timeline. Then we work it, one-on-one or in a group of four, as often as the goal requires.
A method for studying maths, not an instruction to try harder. Your child knows what to do when they’re stuck, without needing you at the table.
Progress
Session updates go to you and your child after every lesson, and the mastery plan is adjusted as they progress.
You always know where things stand, without having to ask your child how it’s going and decode the answer.

How sessions run
One-on-one
Every minute is your child’s. We work through their gaps in the exact order the diagnostic says they matter most.
In person or online, whichever suits the week.
Small group, four students maximum
Some students work better hearing others reason a problem aloud, and four is small enough that nobody disappears. The mastery plan stays individual either way.
In person at the classroom.
Families travel to us from right across Adelaide, and students join online from anywhere in South Australia.
A note from the founder
Teaching maths since 2009, with a physiotherapist’s habit of assessing first.
Before I taught a single maths lesson, I trained as a physiotherapist at the University of South Australia. It taught me something I’ve used in every session since: you assess before you prescribe. You find out precisely where the problem is, you build a programme for that person rather than a protocol for everyone, and you measure whether it’s working. Maths is no different. Most students who struggle aren’t short on effort. They’re carrying a gap nobody has gone looking for.
Scholar Green was founded on a simple belief: that education should do more than improve grades. Here, young minds are nurtured not only to succeed academically, but to grow into confident, capable leaders who stay curious about the world and willing to give back to it.

Questions parents ask
Do you teach online or in person?
One-on-one runs in person at the classroom or online, whichever suits the week, and the structure of the session doesn’t change either way. Small groups run in person at the classroom only.
Where are you based, and do you travel?
Sessions run at the Scholar Green classroom in Woodville Gardens. We don’t teach in students’ homes. If getting here isn’t practical we run the session online instead, and families anywhere in South Australia are welcome on that basis.
How long are sessions, and how often?
Sessions run for an hour. How often depends on what the diagnostic shows and what your child is working towards. Some students need one session a week, others need more in the lead-up to exams. We’ll set it together once we can see what we’re dealing with.
Do you take group sessions?
Yes, in groups of no more than four. Whether your child works one-on-one or in a small group depends on what the diagnostic shows and what they’re working towards. We decide it together, so you don’t have to guess up front.
What happens in the first session?
We run the diagnostic and talk through what it shows. You’ll have a clear written picture of your child’s understanding before any ongoing commitment is discussed.
My child is well behind. Is it too late?
No. Being behind is a starting point, not a verdict. The diagnostic exists precisely so that we know where to begin rather than guessing.
How do I know it’s working?
Progress is reviewed against the mastery plan and reported back to you. You won’t have to infer it from a report card three months later.
Do you help specifically with exam preparation?
Yes, though it works best as part of ongoing mentoring rather than a fortnight of cramming.
What does it cost?
Fees depend on the mastery plan we agree on and how often we meet. We go through it properly once the diagnostic results are in and we’ve chosen the right mastery plan together, so you’re deciding with the full picture in front of you rather than a number in isolation.
